YouTube’s New Event Hub Brings E3 Videos Together

YouTube's Event Hub could bring together all your favorite streams and videos to a single page

Competitive gaming is a big thing, with millions of pounds worth of prize money up for every single game. The events that reveal or help organise competitive gaming are equally as big, with E3 being one of the largest events in video games every year. This year YouTube are looking at using the same technology we use to enjoy watching people play the games to help keep us informed with all of their E3 streams and videos in a single place.

The new feature is titled event hubs, with E3 being the first to get the new treatment in June. Much like channels host their own videos, event hubs will feature all the videos from the event from a range of channels, meaning you can browse and watch streams and videos from your favourite tournament or expo without ever leaving a page.

The first events up on the new hub will be the EA press conference at 1300 PST followed by Bethesda’s press conference at 1900 PST on the 12th June, with a 12-hour stream kicking off on the 13th ready for the big event. With all the big sites looking to cover E3’s releases and announcements, including us here at eTeknix, YouTube’s event hub seems a great way to keep track if you aren’t able to be there in person.
