There has been a huge improvement in the world of gaming graphics over the last few decades, there’s no doubt about that. However, back in the early days of gaming, graphics just didn’t exist in the way we think of today, and ASCII characters were used to build our worlds, present us with text adventures and more; all that is about to change, again.
Brut@l takes the classic ASCII created dungeon crawler designs of the 80’s and puts a modern graphics spin on them, adding effects, animation and most important of all, extra dimensions to make them 3D. The end result is a game that nods to the simplistic graphics of days gone by, with the fast paced action of a modern co-op dungeon crawler. Put simply, it looks pretty freaking epic.
With co-op gameplay, crafting, player classes, and all the usual stuff you would expect these days, Brut@l looks like a fun game. It’s already hit the console market, but the new trailer lets us know it’s coming to PC early 2017, and we now know that the PC version will also receive a handy level editor, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this game became a popular target for the modding community in general.
Check out the trailer below, let us know what you think about Brut@l in the comments section.
