Over the past year or so, a massive RGB LED lighting phase has overtaken the PC industry. It seems like all major components like motherboards and graphics cards now feature some form of RGB LED lighting, usually user controllable. Taking it to the next level, ZADAK Labs added RGB lights to their DDR4 and SSD products. After revealing the new lineup earlier in the month, we now have more information to share about the SSD.
The ZADAK511 SHILED RGB Series features a multi-level design on the outside using various metal components. As it has both SATA III and USB3.1 Type-C ports, it is suitable for both internal and external use. This means the metal design isn’t just for show but also functionally important. In terms of the SSD internals, the drive uses MLC NAND with sequential read and write speeds on both connectors at 550MB/s and 480MB/s respectively.
No RGB LED lit item would be complete without user control and the ZADAK511 is no different. With the use of the provided ZArsenal software, users can control the lights to synchronize with any motherboard. The software also allows users to monitor the drive health as well as show drive information, provide user alerts and warnings. Firmware updates can also be done with ZAresenal.
