Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 Mini Graphics Card Unveiled

Zotac has revealed what it describes as “the world’s smallest GeForce GTX 1080,” which will be on-show at next year’s CES in Las Vegas this coming January. All we know about the graphics card so far is that it features a base clock of 1,620MHz and a Boost clock of 1,759MHz, plus 8GB of GDDR5X VRAM at 10GHz over a 256-bit interface. The Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 Mini follows hot on the heels of its chopped-down version of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070, which kept the reference clock of the original card but in a smaller form factor.

“We believe the future of computing should be flexible,” Tony Wong, CEO of ZOTAC International, said. “Our next generation of computing products enables users to get the best of mobile and stationary experience.”

Alongside the GTX 1080 Mini, Zotac will also be showing off its new mini PCs and external graphics docks.

“Our goal is to turn low power and ultra-portable Windows devices such as notebooks and mini PCs into performance racecars,” Danny Wong, Director of Product Management for ZOTAC International, says. “The external graphics dock enables any device equipped with Thunderbolt 3 ports to take full advantage of the transfer speed and bandwidth, potentially becoming exponentially more powerful.”
