As I’ve already said, the new Zotac card looks pretty much like the non-SUPER variant. OK, it’s exactly like it, but that’s fine. It’s still a fantastic looking little card that’s big enough to fit a decent cool. However, not so big that it wouldn’t fit in a lot of mATX and even mini-ITX builds.
It uses their dual fan design, which should provide more than enough cooling for this rather modest chipset. You can see there are some heatpipes running over the GPU chipset, but overall, the cooling radiator is mounted damn near directly to the chips on the PCB.
Not that we expect the 1660 SUPER to run very hot, it’s not a massively powerful hungry chipset. Here you can see the heatpipes fit to a larger base plate. It looks bigger than the GPU chip, which likely means this cooler is built to be used on multiple chipsets. There’s a single 8-pin power connector, so compatibility should be very high with lower wattage PSUs.
Around the back, there’s loads of ventilation to help things keep nice and cool. Plus, despite being a smaller card, it still packs in three DisplayPort connectors and a single HDMI; very impressive!
The fans are Zotacs own design and are housed in that cool angular plastic shroud. It’s a similar design to their flagship cards, albeit, a more “affordable” take on that design. However, it’s great to see their entire range looking somewhat similar in design.
