Zotac GTX 1660 Twin Fan 6GB Review

How Much Does It Cost?

The Nvidia GTX 1660 cards launch today, and prices range from £199.99 for the more basic models, up to £249.99 for those with bigger overclocks and coolers. Amazingly, despite the mini-ITX form factor and the stylish cooler, the Zotac GTX 1660 Twin Fan holds the lower MSRP of any card we’ve tested today. It’s priced at just £199.99 which is quite honestly a freaking steal.

Overview

I’ve always been a fan of Zotac cards. More often than not, they deliver big performance at very competitive prices. Of course that formula holds true here today also. While it’s not the fastest GTX 1660 we’ve tested, it’s hardly a million miles behind the competition, despite being up to £50 cheaper.

Overclock or Bust

While your overclocking millage will vary, the 1660 chipset seems to love being pushed pretty hard. Overclocking saw our performance boost %15-18 overall and that can mean around an extra 10 FPS in most games. Keep in mind that this is a £200 card. However, keeping in mind that boosting the performance with overclocks is basically free. You would be mad not to squeeze that extra performance out of this card, it loves to OC!

1080p or 1440p?

The card is strong at both. We can easily best 60 FPS at 1080p in pretty much everything using High settings. However, for games hitting North of 80 FPS, you could comfortably hit Ultra settings too. For 1440p, Medium-to-High settings are going to get you 60FPS+ easily enough. You can game at 4K in less demanding or older titles, however, most modern games will sit around 30 FPS on this card.

Bargain

The Zotac card may be the cheapest of the 20XX range, but it’s easily one of the most competitive. If you’re shopping for an affordable GPU that can delivery the performance needed for the latest games, it’s a great deal. Plus, with fantastic overclocking potential, a compact design, and a great warranty, at has a lot more to offer too.
