Zotac Launching Overclocked GTX 1070 Ti?

First, we were told that NVIDIA’s forthcoming GTX 1070 Ti graphics cards could not be overclocked. Then today, NVIDIA clarified that the cards are built to be overclocked by owners, though 1070 Ti factory overclocking is locked. Locking factory overclocking makes sense, since NVIDIA doesn’t want to undercut GTX 1080 sales. However, it appears that the factory overclocking isn’t locked after all. At least, that’s the impression we’re getting from photos of Zotac’s forthcoming custom GTX 1070 Ti cards.
Zotac’s Overclocked GTX 1070 Ti Cards
According to VideoCardz, Zotac is planning to release three GTX 1070 Ti cards, at least one of which is overclocked. However, all we have to go on is some photos of the prospective cards. So, how do we know one is factory overclocked? The Zotac card in question is branded AMP! EXTREME, though another card is also branded AMP!.
AMP! branded cards are uniformly overclocked. This suggests that at the very least the AMP! EXTREME card will be factory overclocked. However, the AMP! branded card could also be overclocked. Unfortunately, the box art tells us little about the cards’ clock speeds. But would Zotac bother making a triple-fanned AMP! EXTREME without overclocking it. Frankly, it seems unlikely.
In addition to the two AMP! cards, Zotac is also building a cut-down version of the GTX 1070 Ti. The Zotac GTX 1070 Ti Mini features a short PCB and a dual-fan cooler.
