Zotac MEK1 Gaming PC System Review

Final Thoughts

Pricing

The Zotac MEK1 Gaming PC has a retail price in the region of £1400. While this is a lot of money, for the system you are getting the price is competitive and a fair reflection. With excellent gaming figures and powerful performance, you are certainly getting a strong system for your money here.

Yes, Zotac has cut costs where they can. I refer specifically in this instance to the power supply. Taking that aside though given that a Nvidia 1070ti alone retails for about £500.  With all the other components (which aren’t getting any cheaper) this is a good price. Particularly for such a very strong and true gaming PC.

Overview

This is without a doubt one of the best systems we have seen recently. In terms of looks and performance, the Zotac MEK1 Gaming PC ticks all the right boxes. Yes, things are a little ugly on the inside, but then, aren’t we all? With such strong figures both in gaming and more practical applications, when combined with the fantastic and clever styling, it’s hard to find anything to criticise this system. Except perhaps those wireless aerials.

Where to put it?

Given the fantastic styling and lighting effect, you’re not going to want to keep this hidden. The small size means that you could put this on top of a desk rather than under and show it off to the world. Yes, it might take up a little room, but this looks far too good to keep hidden away. Show off your Zotac MEK1 Gaming PC to the world. It deserves nothing less.

Easy to use!

The system comes with Windows 10 pre-installed. As such, it is, more or less, ready to run out of the box. The only additional software I had to install was the Nvidia drivers and, of course, the Windows Updates. After that, I was all set to give it a try and see what it could do. Nothing in the process of unpackaging was difficult. This is in no small part thanks to that excellent strap which is fitted to help you remove it from the box.

Great Performance

I have reviewed many laptops and gaming systems. With that, I can confidently say that the Zotac MEK1 Gaming PC is by far and away the best all-rounders I have seen. I’ve reviewed systems with better processors and graphics cards certainly. Regardless of that though I’ve never reviewed one that had such fantastic components combined and awesome styling in the case to go with it.

If you were, therefore, looking for a new gaming system that was capable of a strong outing while at the same time looking uniquely fantastic, then the Zotac MEK1 Gaming PC would definitely get a strong recommendation from us. The system is almost entirely flawless on every level and its not often we get to say that.

Pros

  • One of the best looking Gaming PC’s we’ve seen.
  • Strong gaming performance even at 4K
  • Clever design choices which make it not only look good but run efficiently.
  • For a small system, the components have been well placed and are largely easily accessible.
  • The lighting on the case looks very stylish, even the most ardent RGB haters couldn’t dislike this.

Cons

  • None

Neutral

  • Wireless aerials are the only clumsy part of the design. An exceptionally minor point.
  • I would have been nice if there was a little more product details on the packaging.
