CES 2016: ZOTAC is a company synonymous for its graphics cards solutions, and innovative small form factor PCs. However, they have also been looking into smart appliances of late and helping to connect your smartphone and home life. Please note, the model shown in the picture above is an early pre-production version and constantly being improved upon. ZOTAC’s smart home starter kit contains everything you need to begin monitoring movement around your home and also customizable key features such as lighting adjustments based on environmental brightness.
Unlike many other products on the market, ZOTAC is opting for open source software which gives users the freedom to improve it with mods or create their own unusual functionality. In theory, this could dramatically enhance the product’s long-term usability when compared to many competitors. It will be interesting to see how this product develops and we should have some more concrete details during Computex this year.
