Zotac Releases GTX 1070 Mini

With the growth of the small form factor and HTPC markets, mini graphics cards have become all the more necessary. While past mini cards have generally only offered midrange performance, advances in technology have allowed for even performance and enthusiasts levels cards get shrunk down. As part of a new addition to their Mini lineup, Zotac has just announced their Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Mini graphics card.

Utilizing the GP104 die, the Zotac GTX 1070 Mini is a slightly cut-down version of the GTX 1080. While the card sticks to the NVIDIA reference clock speeds of 1518 MHz core, 1708 MHz GPU Boost, it should be more than potent enough for 1440p gameplay. Even though it is billed as a mini version, it still packs the usual dual slot configuration with the same cooler used for the GTX 1060 AMP!.

Unforatutnely for those with really small cases, the Zotac GTX 1070 Mini isn’t all that mini. At about 21 cm, it is still somewhat limited in the cases that will fit it. It is quite a bit cut down compared to the 30 cm GTX 1070 AMP! model. This size is only allowed due to the new custom 17cm PCB. Fortunately, many small form factor cases have made extra accommodation in order to allow longer cards to fit in.  The expected retail price is $389.
