Zotac Reveal Their First GTX 1080

After the launch of the GTX 1080 on Friday, all that awaits are for the cards to actually arrive. As we expected, the Founders Edition, which costs more than the custom variants, is the reference model of the GPUs. Zotac has been the first AiB partner to reveal their GTX 1080 GPU. Being a reference card, the Zotac ZT-P10800A-10P GTX 1080 features the new polygonal reference cooler design along with stock clocks.The GTX 1080 is based on Nvidia’s latest Pascal architecture on the 16nm FinFET process.Powered by the GP104-400 GPU, the card features 2560 CUDA cores clocked at 1607 MHz base and 1733 Mhz boost. Memory is 8GB of the new GDDR5X running at 10000 Mhz over a 256bit bus for 320GB/s of bandwidth. Power is provided by the single 8pin PCIe connector and there are 2 SLI fingers. We still have the same 3 x DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0b, and DL-DVI display connectors.Honestly, if the card didn’t come in a Zotac box, it would be hard to tell it’s from Zotac. The only difference is the back plate is missing the GTX 1080 logo. I suspect this is Nvidia clamping down on what their AiB board partners are allowed to do with the Founders Edition cards. It’s a bold move considering that the Founder Edition actually costs quite a bit more than the custom models set to launch later.
