Designed with virtual reality gaming in mind, the MAGNUS EN980 is currently the most powerful ZBOX Gaming Mini PC of its kind, and it was unveiled by Zotac. Even though it definitely looks like a mini-PC, the Magnus EN980 packs quite a punch and is able to go toe-to-toe with some very impressive gaming desktops. That’s because it features an Intel Skylake processor as well as a Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 graphics card, which means that it actually surpasses the recommended specifications for VR gaming right now. Thanks to its DisplayPort and HDMI ports, this Zotac mini-PC can support up to four displays at once, which is always nice.
Other highlights include 802.11ac WiFi, dual gigabit LAN and a USB 3.1 type-C port that ensures transfer rates of up to 10Gbps. But since we’re talking about a very compact build, it’s worth sharing a few details about its cooling system, which is actually quite impressive. Indeed, the factory-installed water-cooling solution uses strategically positioned heat fins, heatpipes and liquid channels that lead heat away from the source thus keeping vital components as cool as possible. The MAGNUS EN980 will be showcased at the upcoming Cebit 2016 and GDC 2016 events that are set to take place this month.
