Zowie AM – Ambidextrous Mouse Review
The mouse itself is hardwired with a gold plated USB cable, while I’m sure most people prefer a braided cable this one is still of a reasonable quality and more than good enough for the price bracket of this mouse.
The surface of the mouse is finished in a silky smooth (to the touch) black plastic, a slight touch of red on the mouse wheel and Zowie logo give it some added style but otherwise the mouse is quite sleek and unassuming.
Being an ambidextrous mouse, the AM features a symmetrical design but still keeps a comfortable and ergonomic body shape.
The scroll wheel feels of good quality, as do the two control buttons on the left and the right sides of the mouse.
The underside of the mouse is fairly basic; a pair of large Teflon slip mats cover the front and back area, there is an IR sensor in the centre and finally a DPI switch with LED indicator below that.
Hmm… Not bad, but for me personally I reckon there’s not much out there to touch Roccat’s Kone XTD & Pure at the moment. It’s all subjective though.
