Zyxel Announces CAM3115 Aurora Cloud Access Camera

Home security systems are becoming more popular as the amount of choices increases and the ease of which it is to set them up and use. The newest of such smart IoT home cameras comes from Zyxel and it is called the Aurora Cloud Access Camera (CAM3115).

The high-performance lifestyle camera provides live monitoring and real-time mobile notifications to provide an extra layer of security and give users peace-of-mind when they are away from home. But that about normal these days. The Aurora Cloud Access camera does all this in a clever way and with a few extra features.

The camera can be mounted pretty much anywhere indoor: wall and ceiling as well as on a table or shelf. The magnetic stand can also be removed, leaving just the camera triangle to place. It also utilises a premium image sensor that even is able to capture full-colour high-resolution video in low-light conditions.

It should be quick and easy to set up and use thanks to the smartphone app. It allows you to establish recording schedules, define motion zones, and watch live or recorded videos. Real-time event push notifications will make sure that you never miss an event. There’s even a 2-way audio feature, allowing you to talk to people or pets near the camera.

The Zyxel Aurora Cloud Access camera is equipped with 16GB of internal storage for continuous recording and it is also compatible with Synology NVR and its Surveillance Station solution. That feature is great as it allows users access to a scalable storage solution that extends to public cloud, desktop management options, intelligent video analysis, and multi-cam monitoring on one screen.

“Until now, Zyxel has been well-known as a company that provides the wired and wireless network infrastructure that provides consumers with the connectivity to optimise the performance of their network-connected devices,” explained Shawn Rogers, Market Development Manager at Zyxel. “As technology for the connected home continues to rapidly evolve, consumers are seeing the value that IoT devices can bring in terms of enhanced communication and added security when they’re away from home. The new Aurora camera is a logical progression for us as we expand beyond products that simply provide network connectivity to devices that leverage that network to enhance productivity and security in the home.”

The Zyxel Aurora Cloud Access Camera (CAM3115) carries a limited two-year warranty and is available now through all Zyxel authorised resellers at a street price of $159.99.
