Zyxel announced the launch of their new flagship VPN Firewall, the USG2200-VPN. The new unit is a high-performance all-in-one security appliance for multi-site medium-sized businesses. It leverages great connectivity options along with a strong security.
“As businesses and the people that work for them become increasingly mobile, companies are faced with the challenge of maintaining the security of the network while providing access to valuable company resources from remote locations and on-site mobile devices,” explained Tri Nguyen, Market Development Manager at Zyxel. “The USG2200-VPN completes our end-to-end, multi-site security solution to give small- and medium-sized businesses a scalable solution for providing secure network access from remote locations around the world to maximise productivity and efficiency of their employees and work groups in an ever-changing global business environment.”
The USG2200 is a robust hybrid VPN that provides a secure and always-online connectivity for mission-critical communications between headquarters and multiple branch offices. It supports a diverse range of VPN connections such as IPSec/SSL/L2TP over IPSec. This will allow it to connect with a majority of devices in the workplace or at home.
VPN concentrator technology enables the USG2200-VPN to handle more than 3,000 VPN tunnels to provide secure access to company resources between branch offices, partner offices, telecommuters, BYOD environments, and mobile employees.
The security features include Anti-Spam protection, content filtering 2.0, and hotspot management. It also features multi-WAN load balancing to maximise performance. Another great feature is the Device High Availability Pro which ensures maximum network stability. It does so by providing fast failover which minimises network downtime and completely restores the network to normal operations.
The power supply is also redundant and the USG2200 comes with a double 120W PSU.
While the Zyxel USG2200-VPN VPN Firewall is available now through authorised resellers, the suggested retail price is $8,999. Last but not least, Zyxel backs it with a limited lifetime warranty. You can read up on the full specifications at the official product page.
