Grand Theft Auto V has been keeping fans of the series happy for while, but we can’t always be sat right in front of the TV to go on a virtual crime spree. Now it looks like you’ll be able to cruise around Los Santos on the go as Rockstar now porting Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to mobile devices.

The game will be leaving the world of the PlayStation 2 and heading to Android, iOS and Windows Phone devices. The game will featured more detailed graphics, touch-optimized controls, full controller support and even support for the new iOS 7 controllers. So there should be more than enough ways to play.

Rockstar haven’t given us a final release date just yet, but the launch is imminent and you can expect to replay the adventures of Carl Johnson this year.

Thank you Engadget for providing us with this information.

  1. As big a fan as I am of the GTA franchise I’ll give this a complete miss. I played as ‘CJ’ many moons ago and remember it well not to mention mobile gaming along with their console counterparts just don’t do it for me. Thanks anyway Rockstar, as much as you are wallowing in poverty and I’d love to donate…

  2. I really want them to say
‘We made a Ridiculous amount of money from GTA:V, because our customers are awesome, so here, have GTA:SA for mobile Free”
i know they wont, but it would be amazing if they did

  3. I’d rather have them release some sort of “GTA Trilogy: Remastered” instead of this. I mean they could port them all to the san andreas version of the engine which is essentially a expanded version of the one featured in gta 3, make a menu ELFC style and then just bring in the source textures and models before optimizations to work on the consoles
