Don’t tell me none of you have never experienced a dead, artifacting card? I know I have, and have been stuck without a solution with a £300 paper weight.
Many consumer electricals experience the same problem, be it the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 or Sony TV. They all suffer from a problem commonly known as ‘board warp’. Due to the temperature build up inside the chassis, the board begins to bend under the weight of any Heat-sinks on top. This results in the tiny solder joints cracking, preventing the flow of electricity originally implemented.
By placing your card into a professional re-bake oven, one can re-melt these tiny joints, restoring the card to its original functionality! This process is commonly used by Board Refurbishers the world over! But, how many of us have a pro re-bake oven? Very few. And the easiest replacement? THE COMMON HOUSEHOLD OVEN!

Quick question: Have you guys actually tried this out before posting? I have been aware of this hack for a while now, and there is also quite a lot of "broken" graphics cards on eBay that say they will work fine if you "bake" the cards, but I am not going to waste my money or risk cooking my own card if it is a big hoax.

I tried this method on my dead HD2900, but I reanimated it only for a month and then card died again 😀 Will try to cook it second time and if it will come to life then sell it 😀 😀 😀
Think if it's done it again it may have given up the ghost but let us know what happens 😀 Be interesting to find out!
Hopefully, when you sell it, you will be COMPLETELY honest in the item description and you'll keep the starting price (or reserve) fairly low. I'm not sure many people would want to buy a "twice baked card" unless the price made it a worthwhile gamble.:-D
Tried a reflow + flux on a 8800GTS/640MB and worked for aprox. 2 weeks. Now I'll try to do that and eventually reballing with a pro-oven and see if it lasts longer.
I will try this trick with my old X1650PRO. That card has nothing to lose. Haha!
my 8600GT lost its display.. :S its giving a black display.. would this be any good to it?.. i've read about this before.. also i would like to add , if anyone has done this and still no use, try flashing the BIOS maybe of the card
