Information on the Llano APU successor “Deccan” is leaked

In a leaked presentation to its industry partners, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) showed them information on the upcoming platform which would be the next generation of Advanced Processing Units (APUs). They will be targetting the low power segment of the market, very much going for the kind of market that Intel’s Atom and Via’s Nano have dominance in. The Deccan platform will have two types of core “Wichita” and “Krishna” all of which will be based off 28nm processor architecture, feature an integrated memory controller and Radeon Discrete class graphics much like the current DX11 APUs.

What’s unique about these upcoming chips is that they provide pretty much everything your system needs except storage all on one chip, you get graphics and a CPU but there’s also no need for a chipset. AMD is going to be targetting these processors at the Ultra low voltage (ULV) notebook market. These chips will also have DDR3-1600MHz native support, unlike Atom which has only DDR3-1333MHz or in some lower end cases DDR3-1066MHz support only. AMD is trying to have these processors for launch next year. You can see the leaked slides below.
