AMD are hard at work once again and two now pieces of hardware are on the horizon in addition to the E1-2200, E2-3800 and A4-5100 parts that became listed in the AMD database last month.
The new A4-5050 and E1-2150 appear to be refreshes of current hardware rather than anything new in terms of manufacturing, but rather boosted clock speeds on current models. Of course this is no bad thing, if you’re on the market for a mid budget APU, they’re about to get a little faster for what we expect will be the same price.
The A4-5050 is a quad-core APU clocked at 1.55GHz with 2MB of L2 cache and HD 8330 graphics, and a low TDP of 13.5W.
The E1-2150 is a dual-core model with a clock speed of !.05GHz and 1MB of cache, fitted with the HD 8210 graphics hardware, unfortunately we do not know the TDP.
It also looks like the A4-5050 is an HP OEM-only chip, while the E1-2150 is not. We’ll no doubt have more information in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
