Intel Quietly Launches the Arc A310 (Proving you Can Do Worse Than an A380!)

With Intel finally announcing the launch of the Arc A770 earlier this week, while it certainly raised more than a few pleasant questions, it did also raise the matter of where the other Arc graphics cards were, and more importantly when we could expect them to arrive. – Well, it seems that in something of a very quiet launch event (so quiet, that we didn’t even know about it) Intel has officially unveiled the Arc A310.

No, not the A380. Apparently, Intel has found a way to make an even weaker GPU!

Intel Arc A310

So, what exactly is the Arc A310? Well, so far as well can tell, Intel has managed to find a way to launch a new SKU that will sit under the already seemingly underwhelming A380. Given that this is quite a meagre offering, it’s not overly surprising that Intel hasn’t decided to make any kind of song or dance about it. – And taking a look at the specifications certainly seems to suggest that a powerhouse this is not!

It does, therefore, beg the question as to why Intel has bothered with this at all. Well, in this regard, it shouldn’t be ignored that OEM partners are always interested in cheap graphics solutions to put in their affordable systems and this certainly seems to be ticking all the right boxes for this kind of ‘release’.

What Do We Think?

On the whole, it’s exceptionally unlikely that the Arc A310 will ever see any notable kind of consumer release. As noted above, we suspect that this GPU will be sent directly to OEM partners who will then put it within affordable pre-built systems. Especially so considering it’s more than likely that the A310 will be able to conform to a low-profile design which is always an attractive option for some regardless of the actual performance.

If you would, however, like to learn more about the Arc A310, you can check out Intel’s official website on it via the link here!
