Gorgeous New MSI Z270 Motherboards Pictured

As the launch of the new Intel Z270 motherboards creeps closer and closer, leaks are bound to happen. The most recent are the latest range from MSI, where a huge selection of lovely photos of their new LGA1151 motherboards have been published online. The Intel Z270 chipset is set to launch alongside the new Intel Kaby Lake CPUs in the new year during CES 2017.

The range includes their budget friendly Z270 PC Mate, which is pretty basic but still has PCIe Armour on the top slot, a nice design, dual M.2 support and decent connectivity. While the SLI Plus version comes with improved audio, SLI support, and more robust I/O shield hardware; the Krait Gaming is thought to be the same board, just with a funky black and white theme.

Next up we have the Gaming Pro Carbon, which expected to be a bit more expensive at $160-180, and features more high-end features like M.2 Shield, RGB LED lighting, and more robust looking heatsinks, which should help with overclocking the board. There’s also improved audio, and dual GPU support is more welcome, highlighted by the second PCIe 3.0 port also having armour.

The Gaming M5 is expected to be around $200 and comes packed with features. It is obviously one of their premium options and packs durable metal shroud covers on the rear I/O as well as on the rear of the board, the M.2 shield, and armour on the DDR4 and PCIe slots. There are also U.2 ports, dual M.2, four USB 3.1 and high-end audio support.

This absolute monster of a board, the Gaming M7, is expected to be around $250. It comes packing everything you could hope for, such as triple PCIe lanes, heavy-duty VRM, a 7-layer PCB, RGB lighting, I/O shroud, triple M.2, dual Gigabyte Ethernet, 802.11ad WLAN, armour, and much more; this is obviously tailored towards the enthusiast gamer.

One of our favourites, however, is the Z270I Gaming Pro Carbon AC. This is one of the most feature-packed mini-ITX boards we’ve seen, and comes with M.2 support (on the rear),  PCIe and memory slot shielding, 802.11ac WLAN, four USB 3.1 slots, Audio Boost, Mystic lighting and more.

Which one of these would you love to see in your system? Personally, I can’t wait to get my hands on the mini-ITX model!

  1. I hope they offer better fan support with these motherboards. More than two real PWM fan connectors will be great.
    Motherboards look great though
