Computex: EVGA Show Z87 FTW and Classified Haswell Motherboards

EVGA’s Z87 line up is looking pretty impressive which isn’t really any surprise given the quality of EVGA’s motherboards in the past. We’ve already had a quick look at EVGA’s Z87 mini-ITX Stinger motherboard here, so be sure to check that out if you haven’t, but now we are going to take a closer look at the Z87 FTW and Classified motherboards EVGA were showing us at their Computex booth.

EVGA Z87 FTW

First up is the EVGA Z87 FTW motherboard which uses a red and black alternating design on the PCI express lanes and DIMM slots. The Z87 FTW is an ATX motherboard supporting up to 32GB of 2666MHz memory. Video ouputs include DisplayPort and HDMI. The audio is provided by the Realtek ALC898 codec while the networking is provided by an Intel i217 chip. No wireless connectivity is provided.

There are four PCI Express x16 lanes and a single PCI express 1X slot. There are four USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports as well as eight SATA III 6Gbps ports for internal storage.

Motherboard buttons for power and reset, as well as diagnostic LEDs are provided on both this and Classified Z87 motherboards.

EVGA Z87 Classified

Next up is EVGA’s premium Classified motherboard which uses an E-ATX form factor. It supports a similar 32GB of DDR3 at up to 2666MHz speeds. Two display outputs come in the form of DisplayPort, and Intel i217/i210 networking processors provide the dual ethernet. Creative sound Core3D powers the audio while Bluetooth v2.1 provides wireless connectivity.

Dual 8 pins are provided so you can overclock to the absolute highest levels without power limitations.

There are five PCI Express 16X slots and a single PCI Express 1X slot.

Four USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 complete the connectivity.
