Gigabyte B75M-D3H Motherboard Sandy Bridge Review

Gigabyte are a brand that we are all familiar with, and of course they aim to stay at the forefront of the market, even through tough times, and rightly so. They have a very large following all across the world and are known to have some of the best quality boards on the market, while also being “leaders in innovation” as they so rightly put it.

With the addition of the Intel Z77 platform being released today, we also see some lesser known technologies being released with various different chipsets. This month will lead you to believe that Z77 and Ivy Bridge are the only things being released, but you would be wrong, as we make a small pathway for B75.

With B75 now upon us, we can let the lid off of a board that Gigabyte are releasing; the B75M-D3H. A board that takes advantage of key Gigabyte features, as well as the likes of Intel Small Business Advantage, which opens up a large area for business focussed features including USB Blocker and data backup technologies.

We have already published a preview on this board, so it makes no sense going over old ground, so instead we will talk about anything that we had to miss due to NDA constraints and then will jump straight in to show you how Sandy Bridge performs, but please beware that this board is aimed at a business market, and not your general consumer market if that’s what you are expecting, as you won’t find any of that overclocking malarky here I’m afraid. If that’s your scene, then we have loads of Z77 goodness waiting for you in our motherboards section here.

For now however, we will be getting this board straight onto our test bench, taking a look at the BIOS that comes included and then getting straight into seeing how it works with an old favourite of ours; the Intel i7 2700k, but first let’s take a quick look at what B75 has to offer.
