We first caught a wiff of the HTC One Max about two weeks ago and new rumours suggest that the 5.9 inch Android smartphone is going to make an appearance on October 15th. The new handset from HTC has been caught going through the TENAA in China (that’s the Chinese version of the FCC to you and me) and it has been pictured again, see above. Information from the Chinese social network Weibo suggests that the new handset from HTC will launch on October 15th.

AndroidCentral claims that the October 15th date speculated on Weibo matches up with what their sources have told them so it is highly likely that the handset will arrive mid-October. For a brief recap on the specifications of this Android handset see the below excerpt from our previous article on the HTC One Max.

“The HTC One Max is a 5.9 inch full HD (1920 x 1080) smartphone that runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and HTC Sense 5.5. Internally the device is believed to be powered by the Snapdragon 800 SoC/chipset which gives it a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor at 1.7GHz according to EVLeaks. In terms of RAM there is 2GB and storage is offered in either 32 or 64GB varieties. There’s no word on whether a microSD is present and it isn’t visible from pictures either. The HTC One Max will have an UltraPixel rear facing camera and 2.1MP front facing camera. The battery is 3300 mAh and fuels the various connectivity options – NFC, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0.Interestingly the HTC One Max uses a fingerprint scanner on the rear.”

  1. I can just see all the comments now. “I’m glad I held off buying a Galaxy Note” or “I just bought the Galaxy Note and I’m happy”. It really makes no difference, the cycle never stops. No matter what you buy, it’s obsolete before you wipe the crap from your eyes.
