Mod Fixes Stuttering Issues in Monster Hunter Wilds on PC by Counteracting Capcom’s Anti-Tamper Technology
Praydog, a well-known modder famous for his excellent VR mods, has recently released a mod for Monster Hunter Wilds that fixes stuttering issues caused by Capcom’s proprietary anti-tamper technology. The mod, called REFramework, appears to work really well.
The Issue with Capcom’s Technology
As many players know, Monster Hunter Wilds has major performance issues on PC. According to Praydog, who is very familiar with the technical side of things, these problems are caused by Capcom’s game protection technology (not Denuvo). To back up his claim, Praydog shared a screenshot showing the frame rate before and after installing REFramework.
Amazing Results from the Mod
Not only does the mod greatly reduce stuttering, but it also fixes some crashes that were caused by the same technology. It seems that Capcom’s protection system is a real problem for the game’s performance and stability.
There has been no confirmation from Capcom about this issue, but Praydog is a trusted modder who has proven his technical skills many times. Moreover, REFramework does indeed solve the stuttering problem, confirming Praydog’s diagnosis. This is the best proof there is.
You can download REFramework from NexusMods. To install it, just extract the dinput8.dll library from the zip file and place it in the Monster Hunter Wilds installation folder. The download page provides all the necessary information.
It seems that once again, a modder has fixed a problem not caused by the developers (who are likely forced to implement certain technologies) but by certain corporate policies.
