Gigabyte X399 Motherboards Up for Pre-Order with Extras

Gigabyte X399 Motherboards Up for Pre-Order with Extras

Gigabyte is running a promotion once again for early pre-orders, this time involving their new AMD X399 motherboards. With the Intel X299 motherboard release, Gigabyte was offering Steam vouchers and Xperience Packs filled with various goodies worth hundreds of dollars for pre-orders. This time, Gigabyte is offering up a similar “Xpedition Pack” which reportedly includes a HyperX Cloud II headset and possibly Steam vouchers as well.

This includes not only pre-orders of their Gigabyte and AORUS X399 motherboard itself, but through their pre-built system partners iBUYPOWER, CyberTronPC and Maingear as well. Those who buy a pre-built PC with a Gigabyte X399 motherboard from iBUYPOWER will receive one of their MEK Mechanical gaming keyboard for free. Maingear on the other hand, offers a free 2-year warranty extension worth $99 with every purchase.

AORUS X399 Gaming Motherboard Features

The AORUS X399 Gaming 7 motherboard itself is an impressive platform to build on. It takes advantage of Threadripper’s massive 64-PCIe 3.0 lane capacity. This means it can run quad-Crossfire or SLI with three M.2 PCIe x4 SSDs installed.  In terms of cooling, it has eight 4-pin PWM fan headers and five internal temperature sensors with two additional external sensors. This allows the X399 motherboard to fully monitor system temperature and adjust fans accordingly. Since the topic of VRM cooling surfaced during the Intel X299 motherboard release, Gigabyte is pre-empting that possible problem by beefing up the VRM heatsink cooler. The MOSFETs have a heatsink that has an additional heatpipe assembly, offloading heat in the area behind the IO.

On top of all that, the AORUS X399 Gaming motherboard also features Realtek’s latest ALC1220 HD audio codec. This has a built-in smart headphone amp, which detects the impedance level. The audio circuitry is also fully custom with use of Nippon Chemicon and WIMA audio capacitors. There is also RGB LED built-in with multiple header functions as well via Gigabyte RGB Fusion. This even supports RGBW or RGB/UV LED strips. Network capabilities are taken care of by a Killer E2500 gaming network NIC as well as Intel 802.11ac WiFi+BT4.2.
