InWin Mod in Taiwan Final Day Progress

InWin Mod in Taiwan Final Day Progress

The last day of the InWin Mod in Taiwan event is almost over and the teams are now in a frenzy to fit the remaining components for their builds, having them complete in time to be entered into the final voting for the prizes on offer at Computex 2016. Team Down Under have certainly made some of the biggest progress, as their military themed build looks nearly finished, and has a huge amount of detail, and bullets, fitted to the InWin 509 chassis.

There’s a slick looking water cooling loop already in place, as well as the external hoses that hook up the loop to an external water cooling radiator setup.

The external combat vest mounted 3 x 360mm radiator configuration is pretty bonkers, and there’s even more bullets and a display installed for good measure.

SMPC have gone for something less cluttered, as they’ve repainted and cleaned up the stock 509 for a very smart looking build.

There’s a 5.25″ reservoir for the water cooling loop and the backplate has been treated to a red panel, providing some nice highlights to the build.

KuN Mod are doing all kinds of strange things on the last day, seemingly switching from one chassis to another due to it being the wrong colour, so it’ll be good to see how these changes turn out on the final build.

The repainted model looks pretty slick through, with a grey and blue theme in place, as well as matching sleeved cables. There’s a nice looking water block on the motherboard, as well as a riser card, suggesting a non-standard GPU mount.

Meanwhile, all this work is being done while the external temperature is over 40c and the factory temperature isn’t much better. We don’t blame Daniel of Running With Scissors from taking full advantage of this ice bucket too cool off.

Modded by Frenchies build is looking a little short on detail at the moment, but the chassis just came back from the painting room.

This may be one of the more promising mods here so far too, as the interior structure has been made to five some interesting radiator mounts, as well as a PSU shroud.

The bends and folds use to create this look remind us of the InWin S-Frame, and I’m sure that’s something InWin are going to love seeing in the final build.

Let’s let the teams get back to work and we’ll check back in with them shortly.
