Warhorse Studios Confirms No Remaster for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 1
Warhorse Studios has confirmed that Kingdom Come: Deliverance will not receive a remaster, unless something unexpected happens, similar to when Saber Interactive reached out to port the game to Nintendo Switch.
No Plans for a Remaster
During an interview with the YouTube channel SxyBiscuit (thanks Gaming Bolt), Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, the global public relations manager at Warhorse Studios, stated that the team does not plan to return to Kingdom Come: Deliverance in any form. When asked about the possibility of a remaster, he replied, “We are not planning to go back to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 1 in any form or shape.” He acknowledged that the game’s most dedicated fans would love a remaster, but realistically, it doesn’t seem feasible. The only way the game might return would be if a company like Saber Interactive approached them, just as they did for the Switch version.
If no similar request comes in, Stolz-Zwilling doubts that Warhorse Studios will return to the project. This could hint that a potential version for the Nintendo Switch 2 might be in the works, though it’s still unclear.
No Updates for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
Currently, Warhorse Studios is focused on the post-launch support of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and will not release any additional updates for the first game in the series. This announcement is likely to disappoint Kingdom Come: Deliverance owners.
As we know, the original adventure of Henry of Skalitz has never received an update to run at 60 fps on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Perhaps the success of the second game could convince the studio to revisit this idea in the future.
