Macbook Air Refreshed with Intel Sandy Bridge Processors

Apple has today finally updated the MacBook Air with next generation, after much speculation it seems that the rumours had all been pretty accurate. Rumours suggested that the MacBook Air will also have the new high-speed Thunderbolt I/O technology, a backlit keyboard and Mac OS X Lion and they were right.

With up to twice the performance of the previous generation, flash storage for instant-on responsiveness and a compact design so portable you can take it everywhere. It’s just a shame the prices aren’t cheap, but what do you expect from Apple.

The MacBook Air is available in 11-inch and 13-inch models that and at the thickest point measure 1.7 centimetres (only 0.3 at the thinnest). The 11-inch model weighs 1.08 kg and provides up to 5 hours of battery life, while the 13-inch weighs 1.35kg and provides up to 7 hours of battery life.

The 11-inch, 1.6GHz dual-core processor with 64GB flash storage will set you back around £849, while the most expensive combination a 13-inch 1.7 GHz dual-core with 256GB of flash storage will set you back £1,349.00. There are two more models that fill the gaps in between.
