RTX 5090 Sets Benchmark Records, Outperforming RTX 4090 and AMD RX 7900 XTX

The wait for NVIDIA’s next generation of graphics cards is nearly over, and as expected, early performance details about the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 have surfaced online. Based on the Blackwell architecture, the RTX 5090 has captured the interest of enthusiasts with its impressive benchmarks.
Benchmark Results

According to leaked results (thanks VideoCardz), the RTX 5090 has become the most powerful GPU yet, even without leveraging DLSS. It outperforms both its predecessor, the RTX 4090, and AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 XTX.
Benchmark tests using OpenCL and Vulkan APIs were conducted on a system equipped with an Intel Core i9-12900K processor, an ASUS ROG STRIX Z690 motherboard, and DDR4-3600 memory. The Vulkan tests showed the RTX 5090 scoring between 331,525 and 359,742 points, reflecting a performance increase of 26% to 37% compared to the RTX 4090. In OpenCL tests, the gains were smaller but still significant, ranging from 6.7% to 15%.
More Testing Needed
It’s worth noting that these preliminary results exclude DLSS, which could further amplify the RTX 5090’s capabilities. However, these synthetic benchmarks may not fully reflect real-world gaming performance. Additional testing, including 3DMark benchmarks and in-game trials, will be necessary to gauge the GPU’s full potential.
Comprehensive reviews of the RTX 5090, including gaming tests, are expected to coincide with the release of the Founders Edition models on January 23, 2025. Fans are eager to see how this GPU performs compared to its competitors and other upcoming NVIDIA models like the RTX 5080, 5070 Ti, and 5070.
