Far Cry 4 System Requirements Revealed – Have You Got a GTX 680?

Far-Cry-4-feature-2-672x372

Far Cry 4 is almost here and while we await the games final release date, there is just enough time to make sure your gaming rig is capable of running it, as the game’s specifications have just been revealed by Nvidia.

You’ll be wanting to run the game on a minimum of an Intel i5-750 / AMD Phenom II X4 955, with 4GB of RAM and around 30GB of hard drive space. The game only supports DirectX 11, so your graphics card will likely have to be compliant with that specification as a bare minimum, although that’s pretty much every card of the last five years.

Kicking things up to the recommended specifications will require some pretty sizable hardware. An Intel Core i5 or AMD FX-8350, 8GB of RAM and most importantly, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 or AMD Radeon R9 290X or better, with at least 2GB of VRAM.

Far Cry 4 PC Requirements:

Minimum System Requirements

  • Operating system: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8/8.1 (64bit versions only)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-750 @ 2.6 GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 955 @ 3.2 GHz

Recommended System Requirements

  • Operating system: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8/8.1 (64bit versions only)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-2400S @ 2.5 GHz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz or better
  • Memory: 8GB
  • Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 or AMD Radeon R9 290X or better (2GB VRAM)
  • Direct X: Version 11
  • Hard Drive: 30 GB available space

  1. so they say the gtx 680 is the same like r9 290x, or that the game is not optimised for AMD? Becouse that is a big gap!

  2. I’v got a GTX 780 Ti with i7 2600k and 16gb ram, so I should be okay running farcry4 however with game files getting bigger and bigger SSD’s need to start coming down in price.

  3. Hmmm… GTX 680 or 290X. Does that mean the game is optimized for NVidia’s? I bet Nvidia already has a new driver prepared for it and AMD will come out with one a week after game’s release. Seems to always be the case with eye candy games.

  4. that’s ridiculous and the and for all the spec the graphics sucks and
anybody in there right mind isnt going to spend 1000 bucks to upgrade
their machine to play a game for a week that is shit
