17-Year-Old From UK Arrested for Rockstar Games GTA 6 Hack!

Last week we saw the bombshell news that not only had Rockstar Games been hacked, but the person who did this began the subsequent online publication of what eventually turned out to be the source code from an early build of GTA 6. – Representing the first window into the development of this highly-anticipated title, while it was certainly a major event, it didn’t come without its problems. – Key among which was reports that Rockstar Games staff were more than a little concerned that the data breach would lead to the termination of remote working.

Shortly after the leaks began appearing, however, sources began claiming that the hacker had been identified as a teenager from the UK. Was this the case though? Well, following a Twitter post by City of London police, this does appear now to be categorically confirmed.

Rockstar Games GTA 6 Hacker Arrested?

Although the person hasn’t been specifically identified by name (which isn’t surprising given their age), the City of London police has confirmed that a 17-year-old, from Oxfordshire UK, has been arrested in connection with not just the recent hacking incidents at both Rockstar Games (in relation to GTA 6), but also a prior one at taxi firm Uber.

The individual is understood to have been arrested last year for a completely separate hacking incident, and, as such, and based on information which has appeared from within the hacking community, does seem to represent the prime suspect.

While it’s unclear if this 17-year-old male has been charged with the offence/s yet let’s just hope that his parents can afford a good lawyer because I suspect both Rockstar Games and Uber are going to be a little miffed at his recent activities!
