Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders Could Sell Out on the First Day
A recent report from Insider Gaming, written by the Tom Henderson, has revealed new details about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. This includes information about its pre-order date and the expected stock levels for the launch.
The details come from internal documents and emails from a major U.S. distributor that Henderson had access to. While these are not official sources, they offer a closer look at what might be expected when the console launches.
Nintendo Switch 2 Launch Details
The report confirms that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be released in June, which aligns with previous rumors and developer hints shared at the Game Developers Conference earlier this year. So, while it’s not new information, it’s another “confirmation” of what many were expecting.
However, there is a new piece of information regarding the pre-order date. Earlier, a Canadian Best Buy chain had suggested that pre-orders would open on April 2. But according to U.S. retailers, the correct date is April 9.
The Direct event will include a message saying, “Pre-orders will be available soon” and a countdown that ends on April 9. While it’s possible that the U.S. and Canadian retailers have different dates, Insider Gaming believes that pre-orders will be available within a week of the Direct event.
Limited Stock for Pre-Orders
The U.S. retailer sources are also reporting that the Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order stock could run out on the first day. Nintendo has reportedly made only a limited number of units available for pre-order. It’s worth noting that these stock limits might be specific to certain stores and could vary by region. This message is mainly concerning North America, so it’s important not to assume the same stock issues will occur in other regions.
