After the successful launch of the Thuban Hexacore CPUs earlier this year, some of us where left wondering what the follow-up would be before Bulldozer, if there was to be one at all.
The 1090T’s recent price-cut seems to make more sense now, as it clears the way for the new Flagship 1010T x6 CPU.
Also to be released is the 1065T, a successor of sorts to the 1055T.
As for for Deneb, it is still not dead: AMD is planning to launch the x4 975, successor to the 965, as the highest clocked production CPU.

Bear in mind that I have estimated some prices based on the launch price of their predecessors, which could be somewhat high, especially on the older-design 975.
Overall, if the pricing does not sullify the deal too much, all three of these new chips outperform their former selves, with no extra power use or heat output, making them an excellent deal all round.
that 3.7 sounds good but the 295$ seems too much. at least AMD is fighting to keep the prices affordable for all its fans. this means better deals just in time for holidays.
Lets see the bulldozer prices over the new intel cpu's, AMD is really trying to get up with the gpu and cpu market. Although Intel seem to be the dominant as we have seen so far, never say never.
Let's hope they benchmark well against the i7

i7 is still the king. but i hope for better prices from intel.someday 🙂
AMD was always good at the Price/Performance ratio, whilst intel was always better at the very high-end.However, 6 cores at 3.3Ghz stock is not to be sniffed at, and I can quite easily see 4.1 Ghz+ being achieved through overclocking.Also, bear in mine that none of these prices are set in stone: they are the estimated maximums.
I was waiting 4 Ghz stock speed from either AMD or Intel…but i guess i have to wait to see that. Intel is all about high-end but when it comes to money…they are damn expensive.
You'll be waiting a while.Currently, the main push is for more cores running at the current speed than less cores running faster.Bearing in mind that most of these cpus are capable of 4Ghz on coolers costing <£50 Also, as many programs are now multi-threaded anyway, there would be little to gain from a 3 core 4GHz CPU against a 6 core 3GHz The manufacturers will get there eventually, but it may be a few years.
^^ That makes sense. What things should we look out for when looking to purchase a processor? I was disappointed in the benchmarks when the old phenom x6 core didnt compete with the i5s in gaming..
L3 cache size, cores and clock speed can take you so far, after that you're best off making a shortlist, and looking up benchmarks for applications you're most likely to use.
the software developers must work intense so that their products can use multiple cores.
Medal of Honor 2010 – is on its right way. Core 2 Duo seems done. I`ve tried it. And both cores running like crazy.
The Core 2 Duo processors along with the other dual cores are performing decently in modern gaming, but the quad cores will take take over soon, in my opinion.
before my x4 i was gaming with my E6600 @ 2.7 with a gts250, i was really impressed i could play modern games. Now with the 955X4 and 5870 is another story, sold the 5870 and waiting for the 6970…

Yea, little by little 4 core will take gain more % of the market, then 6 cores and so on.
It performs decently on medium settings, depending on the video card. Some games like to use a lot processor, especially Final Fantasy 14; recommends an i7 quad core…. >_<

don`t worry people. most of the members here are young so with some hope we can live the day 10 cores will be usual. but coming with that kind of cpu, the costs won`t be too easy for everybody.why buy now the 6 core when less than 1% of the software and games uses 2 cores in a dual core?
