MSI reveals its own dual-fan equipped HD 7700 series graphics card

With AMD’s latest GPU being released today, its of no surprise to see partner companies releasing their own versions. Aside from rebrands which do little more than change the sticker, or occasionally the plastic cover of the cooler, some manufacturers do provide slightly more with custom coolers and additional features.

R7770-2PMD1GD5/OC

MSI is amongst the firsts of such companies, offering the R7770-2PMD1GD5/OC and R7750-PMD1GD5/OC, which gives easily away their HD 7770 and HD 7750.

With these new models comes the custom cooler, equipped with not one, but two fans, providing double the airflow compared to the reference product. Also improved is the heat dissipation and great reduction in the temperature of the GPU, offering a stable and cooler operation.

Additionally, the R7770-2PMD1GD5/OC supports the core voltage adjustment technology, allowing the use of MSI’s own Afterburner application to tweak the graphics card and overclock it up to 35%. With the HD 7770 already clocked at 1 GHz, reaching 1.35 GHz is quite a feat on air cooling only.

In order to provide an overclock even more stable, the R7700 graphics cards have been fitted with solid capacitors to improve durability in addition to their aluminium core delivering high efficiency while keeping low temperatures.

Connectivity includes DisplayPort 1.2 and HMDI 1.4a outputs that support 3D video, 7.1 channel lossless TrueHD video, and DTS-HD audio. Also supported is AMD’s own Eyefinity multiple display technology.

Although availability and pricing are not detailed, it shouldn’t take long for these new products to hit the market.
