Nintendo Accepted Milking Challenge From a Woodstock Farm, Results Are In!

Challenge From a Woodstock Farm

A challenge from a Woodstock Farm in Vermont to Nintendo took a surprising twist after Nintendo accepted the challenge. It seems they are milking every opportunity to get all the extra publicity then can.

Tom Remp, a farmer at Billings Farm, was one of those farmers who saw the game and wasn’t impressed;

“I looked at this and went, ‘That’s not how you milk a cow,'”

With such great offence being taken, Tom wrote to Nintendo, challenging them to a ‘Milk-off’. He admitted the letter was a little snarky, but it was all in jest, a little humour which I didn’t think farmers had in them.

Fast forward three weeks and Tom Remp received an unlikely email, it seems as though his letter had caught the attention back at Nintendo, and they emailed him to accept his challenge! Nice work Nintendo, it’s not very often you’ll get a global company responding to such letters, but it is great publicity for them.

Nintendo made the trip to Vermont, and it was then that the highly experienced farmers took on Nintendo employees at the game. The farmer’s confident approach was short-lived, and didn’t fair too well playing the game. They can be forgiven, though, would you want to play a game milking cows, if you’d spent your entire day doing the same thing for real?

Billings Farm manager Alayna Perkins, who has been milking cows since high-school admitted;

“It’s not easy playing the game,”

She lost her head to head, but there’s no shame in that, I can imagine it’s very different to how you’d milk a cow. Had the tables been turned, and the Nintendo employees faced the farmers at actual cow milking, I think we can all take a pretty good guess at who would win that round.

I don’t think Nintendo tried to simulate milking cows precisely, after all it’s a mini-game, not a simulator, and I doubt the farmers took that much offence to it, but still, it’s still nice to see a company having actual conversations and engaging with the general public, well played Nintendo.

Have you ever milked a cow?
