AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Sees Strong Demand in China Ahead of Global Launch
According to numbers shared by UNIKO’s Hardware on X (formerly Twitter), the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT is experiencing significantly higher sales in China compared to its non-XT version. Pre-orders have been open exclusively in China so far, and after the presentation of the RDNA 4 GPUs, consumer markets have reacted positively.
The AMD Radeon RX 9070 GPUs are among the best value-for-money options on the market. Additionally, AMD has ensured wide availability, and it looks like demand will remain strong.
Last week, AMD held an early launch event for the RX 9070 in China. Previously, at CES 2025, the company revealed the RX 9070 series, but did not officially launch the models at that time.
Also, last week, AMD announced the official prices for the XT and non-XT versions. The fact that prices are under $700 was seen as good news for consumers.
Preference for the Radeon RX 9070 XT
Pre-order numbers were compiled by DIY-APE, a well-known Chinese media outlet, and translated by Uniko’s Hardware on their X profile. Based on these numbers, it’s clear that consumers strongly prefer the Radeon RX 9070 XT over the non-XT version.
The total number of pre-ordered units in this list is 1,535, with 916 of those being the top-end RDNA 4 GPU. This shows that the excitement is clearly focused on this model, and the demand is justified, given the price and the available competition in the market.
Global Demand and Availability
This pre-order list represents only a small portion of the current demand in global markets. Given the shortage of NVIDIA’s Blackwell RTX GPUs, mainstream consumers are likely to consider AMD’s RX 9070 series as an alternative.
AMD is also promising greater availability, which means that there should be enough GPUs for everyone around the release dates, or at least that’s what the company claims.
For now, all eyes are on the retail launch of the RX 9070 series, scheduled for March 5. This launch will reveal how well-stocked the line will be.
