You Just Couldn’t Make Them Up: The Lingo Bingo Headline Generator

Let’s face it; the internet is becoming a little bit predictable. On Facebook we’ll see streams and streams of people sharing LadBible posts and describing how cheeky their Nando’s was or how messy their night was. On Buzzfeed there will be at least one thing that we must read this year, or how these 10 cupcakes really are awesome.

It’s the same old. Reddit does the same, and The Daily Mail too. They’ve found a formula to earn their clicks and now they’re going to milk it for everything it’s worth.

But isn’t it getting tired? Could we not just reel these ideas off ourselves? For Buzzfeed it’s pretty similar. You either need to list over a dozen reasons about something or make sure you describe your subject as something which will change our lives.

Of course, it won’t, and we’re a little fed up of Buzzfeed suggesting it will. I read all 22 of Amy Poehler’s quotes that should have actually changed my life. It didn’t, it just made me know 22 Amy Poehler quotes for a short period of time until I forgot them again.

But it turns out it isn’t just me that has got to the end of my tether by these clickbait headlines. Whether it be The Daily Mail, Facebook, or Buzzfeed, other people are too. Lingo Bingo which was released recently is a reaction to this and throws plenty of punches when mocking the publications.

‘38 Things To Know Before You Take Your Next Breath’ is a personal favourite of ours, with it summing up Buzzfeed’s ridiculous articles perfectly, whilst their generation of a Daily Mail headline which reads ‘Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris Look Happy As They Continue Being In A Relationship’ would fit perfectly on their homepage, although we can’t help it might be old news soon, what with Taylor’s record.

Lingo Bingo has dozens of pre-made headlines however, and is a fun way to spread the disillusionment of a rather boring internet right now with the biggest culprits. It also allows users to create their own headlines, allowing them to vent about anything in a fun, jokey, and sarcastic manner. These can then be shared on, you guessed it, Facebook. So just make sure you’re not adding to the already clogged up cheeky Nando’s and binge drinking status’ we already have to torture ourselves with.
