Assassin’s Creed 3 further details revealed

If like us you’re a little starved for details on Ubisoft’s newly revealed Assassin’s Creed 3 you’ll be glad to hear a bunch of new gameplay details and some concept artwork have shown up online. Prepare to feast.

According to the mag, Boston, the setting of historical events such as the Boston Tea Party, the Boston Massacre and various sieges with the word ‘Boston’ in them, will be one of two major cities that players will be able to skulk their way around in AC3.

New York, presumably the other big explorable city in AC3, can be seen in the images below following the Great Fire of New York. The circumstances of this devastating incident still remain a mystery, could the Assassin’s have been involved somehow? Probably.

AC3 will have a seasonal cycle which – along with the obvious visual changes – will impact gameplay too. Enemies and NPCs will behave differently in winter and frozen pools of water will offer Connor new ways to get around and hunt down his prey.

Much like the Ezio’s transition from young Italian whippersnapper to passionately driven assassin in AC2, players will take control of Connor in various stages of his life. Ubisoft’s concept image shows the half-English, half-Native American before he joins the Assassin order.

As you’ve probably guessed by now, important historical figures like Ben Franklin, George Washington and Charles Lee will also make an appearances and it seems like Connor will be interacting with them regularly.
