UK All Format Sales Charts For Week Ending January 18th.

Fifa-14

The latest UK all format sales charts are in and after the Christmas rush is looks like many of last years top titles are still going strong. Fifa 14, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4 and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag are still holding steady, not moving a single position since last week, echoing the charts of this time last year when the previous iterations of these titles were holding the top slots, and I don’t doubt that the start of 2015 will look pretty similar too.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes has snuck up a single position, showing that their is still a lot of life in the Lego franchise, and after both purchasing and playing the new Lego game on PlayStation 4 myself, it’s easy to see that the developers still have what it takes to make a superb co-op action adventure, that’s both entertaining and packed full of gameplay.

Killzone: Shadow Fall is our first exclusive title on the charts, showing that Sony are able to shift more unique software units that MIcrosoft, who don’t have an exclusive title for their next-gen console until we get down to 12th place for Forza Motorsport 5, although they do have 8th position with the ever popular Minecraft for Xbox 360. Personally, I’m still amazed that there are people buying Minecraft, surely everyone who wanted it will have bought it by now?

A few weeks ago I was blown away that Aliens: Colonial Marines appeared back in the charts at #20, but for the last two weeks it’s held fast in the #10 spot, proving that despite its poor reviews and backlash from the gaming community that their is still a lot of demand for the series, let’s just hope the next title in the series improves on what should have been an awesome game.

Finally we have just two more exclusives in the charts, one for Nintendo in 18th place with Mario Part: Island Tour, although I doubt that will be enough to stem the losses that Nintendo are currently suffering for their now failing Wii U console and diminishing market share for their handheld consoles. While finally you’ll find Microsoft with another at 17th and Dead Rising 3.

It’s a tricky time for gaming sales as many titles came out in time for Christmas, the next major AAA release I can think of is Thief. Are there any titles you’ll be picking up this week? Let us know in the comments section below.
