Microsoft Finally Confirms Windows 11 22H2 Update IS Causing Gaming Problems

I think it would be fair to say that despite being available for over a year now, Windows 11 hasn’t proven to be particularly popular with the PC gaming community. – A factor certainly not helped following the recent release of its first major update (22H2) which so far seems to be causing a hell of a lot more problems than it ever solved (click here to see them!).

One of the biggest and most consistent complaints made by the community, however, is that the Windows 11 22H2 update has been causing games to run worse. – And following a report via DigitalTrends, it appears that Microsoft has now (sort of) confirmed this to be accurate!

Microsoft – Windows 11 Gaming After 22H2 Update is (Partly) Broken

Following masses of reports on Reddit and various other social media sites, Microsoft has finally confirmed that, in some instances, games are indeed running worse on Windows 11 after the 22H2 update. Why is this happening though? – Well, according to Microsoft, the issue lies in gaming titles and apps which have specifically left GPU debugging enabled. A factor which does explain why the issue does appear (at least on the surface) to be a little random in its application.

This can, of course, be manually disabled in many instances. Will users have the knowledge, experience, or patience to do that though? Probably not in the vast majority of cases.

Given that the 22H2 update has been available for nearly a month now (nearly 3 months since it debuted on the Insider Program), it’s clearly more than a little embarrassing for Microsoft that not only should it present so many problems, but more so, that new ones continue to be discovered. – I mean, it’s not as if Microsoft didn’t have enough problems trying to get people to migrate to it in the first place.

What do you think though? – Let us know in the comments!
