Roccat Kone XTD Gaming Mouse Review
It’s been a while since we had a Roccat product come through the eTeknix office, but some of you may recall the stunning Roccat Savu which we reviewed back in July, which earned itself our eTeknix Innovation Award. Today however we have something a little more unique and special from Roccat, the Kone XTD gaming mouse is a serious piece of gaming equipment and comes with a price tag of around £70-80 (prices from Google shopping).
When you start looking at any peripheral in this price range you expect to see a few things in exchange for your investment. The most important one I can think of will be performance, but also style, functionality, features and of course all these combined just justify a good chunk of value for money. Of course even a few of these can go a long way to making a great product, but the more boxes we see ticked from this list, the better.
Roccat are well known for their feature rich, stylish and well performing products and I’m sure many of our readers are already well award of the brand, what they do and their solid reputation. Will the Roccat keep the fires burning with their new product range? well that’s what I hope to find out today.
This mouse is aimed right at the heart of the gaming community, not just the pro-gaming or eSports scene either, as it’s not just professional gamers who want the finest products, but also many consumer level gamers who want the best weapon of choice to help them along with their favourite pass time, gaming. Of course we will be looking for more than just gaming performance today, as with any computer a mouse is an integral part of many systems interface and still needs to be a solid all round performer to really stand out from the crowd.
“To build the mighty ROCCAT KONE XTD – Max Customization Gaming Mouse, our ROCCAT Scientists increased the already formidable capabilities of the legendary Kone[+] – while keeping the legendary design of the Kone[+] 100% intact. The result? A supreme gaming weapon – custom-built for the most battle-hardened fighters – that will thrill Kone[+] fans worldwide.” Quote from the Roccat website.

ROCCAT do indeed make the best mice in the world. A little more pricey than other brands but not ridiculously so. Deserves top honours. I’ve been using the Kone [+] for more than 2 years now & I love it even though it’s ever so slightly big for my hand. I’m looking forward to getting my mitts on the Pure.
Well put it this way… the Kone XTD is still being used since the review and I can’t see me giving it up any time soon :D
it’s not that good looking :P
Style is such a subjective quality, to my eyes it’s a stunner :D
could you do a review on the roccat kone pure? hesitant which one to buy until i see a good review on both :)
Me too.
I’ve just finished testing the Pure. Needless to say my supplier is never going to see it again. It’s that good. The smaller profile suits my smaller hands perfectly. Once I’ve finished testing the XTD it too will probably end up in my collection.
