A lot of talk about flexible displays has been roaming around the past days, having this news come out of the blue. There  has not been any new information for weeks, even months, but there it is. Both LG and Samsung are hard at work preparing their new ‘flexible’ Smartphones.

We all have heard about the LG’s flexible panel, but it appears that Samsung is in on the ‘flexible’ market as well with a 5.7-inch diagonal display and is ‘unbreakable’ due to its flexibility. Also, the latter’s panel is just 5.2 grams, lighter than LG’s solution, and just 0.12mm thick. Compared to LG’s HD display, Samsung has managed to squeeze in 1920 x 1080 pixels onto their flexible panel.

The name being given to the phone is Galaxy ‘Round’, although it is strongly believe that the final name will be something different. We just have to wait and see what the end of the week will bring in terms of ‘flexible’ options.

  1. And how does one plan to carry these in their pockets? Now I know some people are using their “phablet” or mobile phones as tablets and carry them in their bags, but can this be done in some sort of way so pocket carrying will be avaliable? Because in that state atm, I’m sure it would bug the hell out of me.

    1. Huh? The phone is that box at the bottom, which the screen can go into, creating a small box which will fit in your pocket :)

  2. samsung released a video in september of a couple of concept. A tablet that folds into a phone… and a round stick which unrolls a screen at the click of a button. i would find the video but cba. its their berlin talk where they announced the note 3. about 20 minutes in
