Philips Reveals Its New AmbiGlow Plus Monitor

I really can’t make up my mind about the newest Philips 27-inch monitor, the 275C5QHGSW. On the one hand, this particular model comes with pretty decent specs and promises to offer great image quality, but I just don’t know what to think about its AmbiGlow Plus feature. From what I’ve seen so far, the base of the monitor works similarly to the Ambilight technology implemented in Philips TVs, as it creates a colorful halo of light inspired by the image displayed on the screen at a given time. The great thing is that the monitor comes with edge-to-edge glass and very narrow bezels, which enhances the user’s visual experience even more.

As far as specs are concerned, this product boasts a 27-inch AH-IPS panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a response time of 14 ms, a contrast ratio of 1000:1, a maximum brightness of 250 nits, 178/178-degree viewing angles, sRGB color gamut coverage and flicker-free technologies. When it comes to inputs, the Philips 275C5QHGSW offers MHL-HDMI support, an HDMI port, D-SUB and VGA. Priced at about $350, this is not exactly the cheapest 27-inch monitor out there, but as long as you’re a fan of the AmbiGlow Plus feature, you should probably go ahead and give it a try.
