Corsair Gaming K63 Mechanical Keyboard Review

Introduction

Corsair Gaming K63 Mechanical Keyboard Review

Corsair has long been one of the most popular choices for PC gamers, and given the enormous selection of award-winning and feature packed mechanical gaming keyboards that Corsair has on offer, it’s easy to see why. Recently, we took a look at their latest flagship gaming keyboard, the Corsair K95 RGB Platinum, and it was truly epic. However, it may be complete overkill for a lot of people, and if you’re in the market for a much more compact, lightweight and focused gaming keyboard, especially for competitive eSports and LAN gaming, then the new K63 looks set to grab your attention.

Equipped with a shorter design that gets rid of the number pad, a slimmer bezel, red LED lighting instead of RGB, a lightweight cable design, as well as Cherry MX Red switches, the K63 ticks all the right boxes for many gamers. It’s lighter, cheaper, and while it does lack some of the crazy features of its big brothers, it’s still got everything you’re likely to need to enjoy some gaming action, as well as anything else you use your keyboard for day-to-day.

Packaging and Accessories

The K63 comes in a compact box that’s not much bigger than the keyboard, and it has all the relevant information right up on the front, such as the switch type and layout.

Around the back, you’ll find a complete breakdown of the main features, such as the shorter design, the multimedia controls, and the available software suite.

In the box, you’ll simply find the keyboard, which comes hard-wired with a lightweight cable, and the usual documentation, that’s it. Of course, that’s all we need, so let’s take a closer look!

  1. Looks like you gain a few multimedia keys and red LEDs over the K65, but you lose the aluminium backplate-only design.
