OCZ RevoDrive 400 NVMe SSD Listings Appear Online

OCZ RevoDrive 400 NVMe SSD Listings Appear Online

After teasing us with the drive 8 months ago, it looks like OCZ is finally getting ready to launch their RevoDrive 400 SSD. Announced back in September of 2015, the RevoDrive 400 is set to bring NVMe speeds to the M.2 SSD segment. Kikatek.com, a UK-based retailer, has recently listed two placeholders for OCZ’s latest drive. The drive was originally set to launch in May so timing is just about right.

The RevoDrive 400 is set to be a massive upgrade over its RevoDrive 350 predecessor. While it won’t be the first NVMe M.2 SSD anymore, it will still pack a massive punch. Using Toshiba’s own NVMe controller, the SSD will feature read speeds are set to hit 2400MB/s and write speeds around 1600MB/s. This is a bit higher than the reveal speeds and quite a bit faster than the official OCZ speeds. The drive will also feature Toshiba 15nm MLC NAND.

The last update from OCZ was that they were still working on the firmware back in March. If listings are out now, it looks like the product is pretty much finalized and ready to go soon. While there have been a few NVMe M.2 SSDs out there, perhaps a new competitor will help drive down prices.
