Netflix is Raising UK HD Prices Again!

netflix

Netflix is the global phenomenon that allows anyone with a decent internet connection to stream movies and TV shows. The content varies in age greatly and the variety is far superior in the US compared to the UK.

Netflix is trying to counteract this by offering new, original shows such as House of Cards, Orange is the New Black and Daredevil; however, this doesn’t come cheap. Currently, the cheapest price is £5.99 per month, which allows you to connect a single device at standard definition. The highest price is the premium plan, four devices, HD and 4k for £8.99 per month.

The pricing changes only seems to affect the HD basic customers, changing the price from £6.99 to £7.49. This is only applicable for new customers right now, however, those customers who are currently in the price freeze from May 2014 will still only have to pay their current rate.

Speculation is surrounding this price rise as to whether Netflix are having to up the offer for Jeremy Clarkson and Co. for the Netflix car show exclusive after the presenter was sacked from Top Gear earlier this year.

Would this price hike be enough to put you off subscribing to Netflix? Let us know in the comments.
